ECCOSORB^® MFS is a series of flexible, magnetically loaded, silicone rubber materials designed to overcome some application limitations of the rigid ECCOSORB^® MF product line.  It is used for terminations, transmission loads and attenuators in microwave circuits. 

Many rigid load materials cannot be bonded to metal surfaces and then temperature cycled as these temperature changes can break the adhesive bond.  This is due to the difference in thermal expansion coefficient between the metal and the load material.  Since ECCOSORB^® MFS is a true elastomer, it deforms slightly to accommodate dimensional changes during expansion and contraction.  In addition, a pyramid or wedge of ECCOSORB^® MFS can be bonded over a large area to a waveguide wall to improve heat dissipation as it has excellent thermal conduction.
